NullTerminator, SuggestionsI’m only writing this because there’s no way to submit feedback directly to someone who will read it on their website. There are a couple glaring omissions from the navigation/UI features that should be addressed definitely by subsequent games and it would be worth to update in this game:The map zoom level is always reset when you go back to the map screen.

Really, really dumb.I can’t zoom out enough in the world. Some buildings are just really big, and they are actually sized to scale since there is no transition between the outside world and entering a building.

Do whatever you need to support a ‘really zoomed out’ mode, i.e. A much-reduced polygon count for everything, reduced textures etc.Last, and related to the zooming problem above, is there’s no way to order the troop to a far location without scrolling there in the world. What we need is a way to change the world viewport by clicking on the map, the view should jump to that location. This is what every other overhead RPG has done.I just changed the rating to 3 stars after playing for awhile (starting the second area), because the game has major problems with difficulty management.

There are no random encounters, so it’s impossible to do ‘leveling'. This should ALWAYS be an option. And the equipment system places WAY too much emphasis on constantly finding upgrades, which is not easy.

Cmon, damage at level 1 starts at 10-20, but by level 4 or 5 (I think) your leads need to dish at least 100. MathiasTolerain, Nostalgia Bomb.

No Other Intrinsic Worth.TL;DR:This game tries to be too many things and fails at every possible turn.Longer Review:This game is another in a series of games released via Kickstarter. This is far from being a bad thing outright, however it should tell the careful reader that the primary value of this game is in its nostalgic quality. Aside from that there is no real reason to play this game. There is a LOT of story - literally everyone, even enemies, have stories that are long, dry, and pointless - with almost no direction for where to go or what to do. You will die to dumb encounters that are above your head. Your characters are made from foil and hope, everything else, even DOORS, have hundreds of hitpoints and laugh off your attacks. Controls for camera rotation are arcane so enjoy your one perspective on a clearly 3-D environment. The journal is more or less useless. There is also no clear guide for how to properly level your character, no clear guide for the crafting system, no clear guide for weapons, armor, spells, or anything else that might be important.

I get it, modern games hold your hand a bit much, but if I wanted so little infomration I would install Dark Souls and at least have better controls, graphics, environment, and storyline. Aikisattva, Excellent Old School GameTL;DR:This game is much better than one poster who called it a “Nostalgia Bomb” gave it credit for. It doesn’t play like a modern too-easy content-lite RPG, but that’s what makes it great!Longer Review:If you like a game that actually has a story (read: tons of voice overs, but you’ll also do a lot of reading to get best value out of the story line) and that requires you to think a little, this is a real winner.Depending on your Mac, you may want to turn down the screen resolution and/or shadow quality a little. On my 27” late 2009 iMac turning down shadow quality to medium made a huge difference. It’s not an especially hard game, but you will certainly die if you don’t think about what you’re doing or if you roam off into too high of a level for your characters. In some ways the game reminds me a bit of the old Ultima series games, but with much nicer graphics and sound, which is exactly what I was hoping for.:-)To sum it up, $40 well spent. Now back to the game.

Update:

Can no longer save games. don't waste your time.
Update July 25, 2016
Coming from the Baldurs Gate camp, I have been looking for something to match it.
1. System resources:
- I have a MBP retina with 16GB RAM and 1 TB sd. The fans run full tilt tight away. Download ensoniq vfx sd service manual. Why? I don’t want to use an app where my fans are constantly at full tilt, this may shorten their lives.
- With fans at full tilt, the machine is running very hot with it.
- And with fans running full, forget about using this on battery power
2. User interface
- It does seem rich but it is clunky. Why not work with something tried and tested like in Baldurs gate? Simple and easy
- Combat system is very cumbersome and slow. It is fairly accurate using action points to determine how many things you can do or how far you can go, but battles take a long time.
- Action graphics are limited and by definition a bit boring.
3. Story line
- Ok I suppose. Still early days so I really don’t know why I am special or should save the universe. I won’t say more due to spolier alert risk.

Dead Happy

Fantastic game.
Smooth gameplay, easy download, eating up my life perfectly.
Highly recommend it. Price is a bit steep but for over 60 hours of gameplay in the main campaign alone it will probably occupy me for some time yet.
Very pleased
Thanks

awful
